    REVIEW: Barenaked Body Sugaring Salon

Despite the whole kilay is life movement, I was never truly invested in attaining #browgoals. For several years, I relied on threading to keep my somewhat bushy brows tidy. It was a chore I put off for as long as I could. I have a low tolerance for pain, so threading is a dreaded process. I often get teary-eyed from how much they sting.

Once, I went to a salon for a threading, and the attendant was pulling the hair from my brows so forcefully that I started to wonder what I did to earn her wrath.

When I found Barenaked Body Sugaring Salon on Facebook, I immediately wanted to try it out.

REVIEW: L’Oreal x Balmain Lipstick Collection

In September 2017, L’Oreal launched a lipstick line in collaboration with fashion brand Balmain. So I’m pretty late to the game on this review, because you know, life gets in the way.

Anyhow, I bought these lipsticks mainly because it was in collaboration with Balmain—it might be the closest I can get to buying makeup from a luxury brand, haha.

I purchased the shades Domination and Power for PHP499 each.

    Treat Yo Self: October 2018

October was a rough month for me: as I mentioned, I was dealing with a lot of problems. It got to the point where I was crying in the shower that I take before going to work.

I don’t have a lot of disposable income right now due to bills, but one week in October, I just said: screw it. I deserve to splurge at least a little bit to make myself feel better.

First, I got a gel manicure from Nail Tropics:

    REVIEW: The Brow Studio

This is a blog post long overdue!

Back in May, I went to The Brow Studio in Uptown Mall for some much-needed beautification. I chose to have the Brow Definition (PHP768) done. It’s a combination of brow shaping, definition, and tinting.

Honestly, I could have gone to another (read: cheaper) salon to have my brows done, but look at how pretty the interiors are in this place:

REVIEW: Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lip Potion Collection

This review has been a long time coming, because this was gifted to me by Boopy way back on Valentine’s Day, lol. Still, better late than never!

Processed with VSCO with g3 preset

    Pricing

This is a 4-piece set of full-size liquid lipsticks. It retails for Php2850, which seems steep, but I find it acceptable for 4 full-size products from Estee Lauder.

REVIEW: Nail Cottage | Gel Manicure

I love gel manicures because they don’t wear off as fast as regular manicures. I usually get them at Nailaholics in SM San Mateo, but at Php850, the price is pretty steep so I don’t get it done too often. That’s why when I found out that Nail Cottage in Marikina City offers a gel manicure for only Php300, I was stoked.

When I got there, I was impressed at how beautiful the interior is. It’s very Cath Kidston with the floral designs.

New look, new me: Braces + A hair makeover

Jk, I’m still the same old dark-and-twisty weirdo deep inside. But at least I’m prettier.

    So, I got braces!

Freakin’ finally. Mama promised this to me way back when I was in grade school and I only got them done last Friday. Better late than never, I guess, lmao.

I was excited because I want to have better teeth. The procedure itself was quick and painless, but damn, my teeth and gums hurt. It is difficult to eat, to say the least. We celebrated my grandfather’s birthday on Saturday and we had a great spread of delicious food, and I couldn’t even come back for seconds because the food kept getting stuck in my teeth 🙁 Also, I already have a loose bracket which annoys me endlessly because I didn’t even directly bite into anything! How is this possible?!

Oh, well. I need to suck it up if I want to have a nicer smile.

REVIEW: VMV Hypoallergenics Fine Finish Pore Minimizing Skin Mattifier

My skin is oily. Not just typically oily, but pizza-grease oily. My face shines brighter than any star on a cloudless night. That’s why I’m constantly on the hunt for oil-control products. This, my friends, is my favorite discovery so far.

REVIEW: Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation

Bobbi Brown is the freakin’ queen. Her Makeup Manual is awesome, her beauty philosophy is on point, and her products are raved over by makeup mavens the world over. Which is why on a whim, I decided to #TreatYoSelf and bought her Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation.

What I love about Bobbi is that she makes cosmetics for a wide range of skin tones. I got Warm Beige, which is an exact shade match for me.

The bottle is absolutely classy. Frosted glass all up in this shit <3

    REVIEW: elf Studio Lip Stain

I was waiting for a shipment from the Instagram seller theglamgirlshoppe. I bought 6 Wet n Wild lippies, so I promised myself not to buy any more for a while. Then I walked by an e.l.f. stall and went back on my word. 😋
Long-lasting lippies are my life (hey, alliteration!), but unfortunately, a lot of longwear lipcolors are drying and result in flaky lips. Which is why I had low expectations for e.l.f. Studio Lip Stain in Red Carpet.
