College life

I’m quite busy but I’m blogging anyway

I feel like I haven’t had a good night’s sleep in a while. Schoolwork has been piling up and I’m doing that thing again where I get overwhelmed by the sheer volume of things to do and I procrastinate.

Not to say that I haven’t also been having fun: this weekend, I attended two birthdays in a row. Both celebrants are named Paula, and I got drunk as a skunk at both birthdays (no, I didn’t really—I just wanted an excuse to use that phrase).

Yesterday we had an activity in class where someone gives you a message bracelet with words that they think describe you. I got this from a classmate:

How cute is this? Of all the adjectives I thought I’d get, this is really nice. I was expecting dorky, sweaty, awkward, and weird.

I have to go, there’s this org thing I have to go to (will post about that soon! Don’t wanna jinx it, eh). These following weeks, I also have to attend a seminar for my major’s journal for which I will be writing (yay), conduct a survey, and watch Ligo na U, Lapit na Me with a close friend from high school. I’ll just have to make time to do laundry/eat/sleep/breathe.

Logging off with an awesome Best Coast quote:

Hopefully I’ll come up with at least one or two happy songs. I am a very happy person, but I have a tendency to write a lot of bummer songs. When I’m inspired to write I tend to be sad and bummed out. —Bethany Cosentino

(For Aya, who keeps asking me to write happy stuff)

Ela is a twentysomething who is constantly getting stuck in self-destructive behavior and bouts of low self-esteem. She struggles with depression and writes to relieve herself of her feelings. Sometimes she even blogs about other things like makeup and positivity. One of her pieces was published in the Inquirer Young Blood in October 2017. She likes cats, dogs, and sometimes even people.
