New look, new me: Braces + A hair makeover

Jk, I’m still the same old dark-and-twisty weirdo deep inside. But at least I’m prettier.

So, I got braces!

Freakin’ finally. Mama promised this to me way back when I was in grade school and I only got them done last Friday. Better late than never, I guess, lmao.

I was excited because I want to have better teeth. The procedure itself was quick and painless, but damn, my teeth and gums hurt. It is difficult to eat, to say the least. We celebrated my grandfather’s birthday on Saturday and we had a great spread of delicious food, and I couldn’t even come back for seconds because the food kept getting stuck in my teeth 🙁 Also, I already have a loose bracket which annoys me endlessly because I didn’t even directly bite into anything! How is this possible?!

Oh, well. I need to suck it up if I want to have a nicer smile.

I also got my hair rebonded on the same day.

Please keep in mind that at this point, I had gone 24+ hours without sleep because I came from a shift and didn’t feel sleepy after I had gone home. The drowsiness hit me when I was in David’s Salon in SM City San Mateo. My stylist Aries assessed my hair and, due to its thickness, came up with a fee of Php5500. Honestly, I hadn’t expected any less because my hair is thicc as fuck and requires a hell of a lot of treatment for a rebonding to work well. Besides, I already know this branch delivers great results for my hair, so I didn’t mind the price.

Anyway, here’s the end result:

I think I look pretty damn good, if I do say so myself. I just have to maintain my hair care regimen (deep conditioner is life) and take care not to damage my braces (goodbye to chewing ice).
